Driving Results through Project Completion
External Manufacturing Plant Startup & Product Commercialization
Morgan supplied the Primary R&D product lead for ground-up startup of a new external manufacturing plant including multiple production and packaging lines encompassing over 30 SKU’s and a variety of products. Led commissioning, qualification & validation work track execution and functioned as a communication link between external manufacturer and client’s corporate cross-functional team. Provided technical support for on-site identification and troubleshooting of end-to-end production challenges (formulation & process) and continuous improvement initiatives. Managed the overall project timeline, risks and stakeholder expectations.
Baked Snack Cracker Ingredient Optimization
This margin improvement project was completed within 6 months with significant cost savings to a global cracker product and involved harmonizing multiple formulas, and did not allow for label or nutritional ingredient changes. The team sourced alternate ingredients at a lower cost and executed the transition without compromising consumer product quality. The project involved conducting two DOE’s, six pilot plant trials, and two internal sensory evaluations comparing both the ingredient optimized product and the plant produced product from each global region. Technical findings were presented to the regional and global teams for implementation.
On-Site Product Troubleshooting
Client was encountering product quality and consistency issues moving from benchtop efforts into production. Morgan completed on-site product and process assessments at multiple manufacturing sites and evaluated new product alignment with current process capabilities. Using the product and operational information gathered, Morgan provided a clear action plan and the technical insight to re-design the system and address the product issues to yield a repeatable and sustainable operation.
